Louise Sommerlatte is the founder and designer behind her brand Hamaji. Born and raised in Kenya, Louise studied fashion design in Cape Town. Hamaji was her graduate collection project that grew organically over the years into this beautiful brand. Louise lived for several years between Cape Town and Berlin before moving back home to Kenya permanently in 2018. Hamaji studio is based in Kilifi where their creations are thoughtfully realized. For the past two years Louise has been a part of The Ethical Fashion initiative accelerator programme for African designers and attended Polimoda University in Florence on a scholarship in March.
