Robert Backlund, b. 1972, works as a counsellor for Team Europe at the EU Delegation in Nairobi. He coordinates the Team Europe Initiative on the Green Deal, promoting sustainability and circularity approaches in all sectors. He has previously worked in the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, coordinating EU policy for Africa. At the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, he has worked on governance, public financial management and civil society cooperation in Mozambique, Liberia and the Western Balkans. Robert holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Södertörn in Sweden, along with studies in Ethnology and Law.
