Akshay Shah has been deeply involved in sustainable & innovative rigid plastic packaging in East Africa for almost 30 years. Akshay's role in Silafrica.com has evolved over this time and is currently focused on ensuring the plastic packaging sector in Africa moves towards a Recycling & Circular Economy model via a combination of corporate pledges, supported by circular economy-friendly legislative changes and accelerated by innovation across the value chain.

Akshay currently serves as the Group Executive Director of SILAFRICA.com, Board Chair of KEPRO.co.ke, Board Chair of the global YPO Plastics Network, Steering Committee Member of Kenya Plastics Pact, and Member of KAM (Kenya Association of Manufacturers) Environment & Sustainability Committee.
